PARENT INFORMATION

 
 DAILY  ATTENDANCE  -  CRITICAL TO SUCCESS

Reading University is a full 3-week program - all students must attend every day. Please book your holiday dates so that they do not conflict with the Reading University schedule so that your child can receive full program benefits.

TRANSPORTATION

If you wish to have your child use the free bus transportation to RU,  call FIRST STUDENT BUSES at 780.532.3545 as soon as possible to make arrangements. The bus company will then make a pickup and drop-off schedule and FIRST STUDENT WILL CONTACT YOU on June 28th.

PARENT DROP-OFF & PICK-UP AT READING U

For students not taking the bus, the student pickup and drop-off spot at the St. John Paul ll is yet to be determined.  For everyone’s safety caregivers must come into the school to pick up children at the end of the day. If you are having someone other than a parent pick cup your child, please advise us and ask them to have ID available.

LUNCH AND SNACKS

Daily lunches and snacks will be provided for the children. If your child has special dietary requirements, then we ask that you send along a packed lunch to suit his/her needs.

DAILY SCHEDULE

Classes start at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm. Students will be in small groups and will travel with their groups to 10 different classes each day.

SUPPLIES

  • Backpacks and water bottles will be provided as will all supplies needed for the program.
  • Preferred footwear is running shoes as students will have daily PHYS ED outdoors as long as the weather cooperates.
  • Please DO NOT send money, phones, electronics or other valuables to Reading U with your child. 

STUDENT ABSENCES

If your child is ill and is unable to attend on any given day, you are asked to do 2 things:

1. Call FIRST STUDENT BUSES at 780.532.3545 where applicable and let them know that your child will not be on the bus.

2. Text or phone Reading University at  780.882.3184‬ to let us know that your child will be away or late.
